The First Post Master General
  The Honorable John AJ Creswell

   Port Deposit native, the Honorable John AJ Creswell was the first Post Master General under Ulysses S. Grant. During his term the Hon. John AJ Creswell  develops the Penny Postcard as a way to speed up transatlantic postal traffic. It was a great success. Over the years Port Deposit has had plenty of Postcards made of the town, here are a few.
