Jacob Tome donated large amounts of his fortune
,estimated to be worth 89 million at the time of his death in 1898, for the education of children.
His concepts was especially progressive for his time, for his schools offered a full
curriculum for girls as well to enter the work and business field.
Over the
years many graduate went to on to be leaders, writers and successful business
people.
