I lived in Port Deposit for a few years. They were life changing years. Now, I can only return to visit for the day from time to time. But the memories of the beauty I witness there every time lasts forever. Soft summer nights with cool breezes off the river, the full moon and the moonbeam trail across the river, are something you can't forget. The smell of honeysuckle on a warm spring morning, and the sight of an American Bald Eagle swooping down the river and pulling the fish out of the water is the sort of thing you thought you would only see in a Maytag washer commercial. I think everyone should come to Port Deposit to make their own memories by walking the riverside promenade, and making friends at C.M. Tug's. If I'm not there, you can even sit at 'my table'. Tell 'em Jimmy said it was OK, just this once!

Port Deposit Md,
My great grandmother, Margaret Sullivan, received her First Holy Communion and was confirmed in St. Teresa's in 1879. She married John Keeley in the same church in 1886. I visited your town for the first time this past week with my husband. So much history. A very unique place. Later, we drove to Havre de Grace (the long way - as we discovered on our quick return trip through Port Deposit) and visited their gravesites at Mt Erin Cemetery. Their stones were there, but unfortunately someone has knocked over the monument.
I wanted to thank Mrs. Jack who allowed us entry into St. Teresa's. I was overcome with a sense of family and belonging as I sat in the same pews that I am certain past generations of my family used.
Of course, when I returned home I got right on the internet and found the website for Port Deposit. It is quite a complete site with lots of useful and interesting information. Whoever works that website does a very nice job.
Thanks for the visit,
-Mary Ambrose May 28, 2004

Great site. Will visit your area very soon. Need to know more about the real estate market for single family units, not condo's.  Thank You.
