Schedule of Events
Each
year on the first Saturday in December from Noon to 6:00 P.M. the Port Deposit
Heritage Corporation organizes events and activities including guided façade
tours and interior views into some of our historically significant structures.
Buildings date to the early 1800’s and a few to the 1700’s. Port Deposit
History is celebrated through many eras; this event features our Civil War
period. This event will include displays of fine china, period clothing,
musical performances and more. Below is a complete listing of the day’s planned
activities. Advanced ticket sales beginning at many downtown restaurant
locations beginning 11-25-2006. Tickets are $15.00 and include a complete 2006
Port Deposit Walking Tour Guide, schedule and list of homes and buildings open
this year.

Ever Holiday Shoppe
at 6 S. Main Street the fully
restored “Bank Building”
The
Shoppe will feature locally made seasonal crafts, live Poinsettias, handmade
soaps, seasonal and year round artificial wreaths and silk flower arrangements,
and much more! We will be raffling off a One-of-a-kind handmade in Colorado,
24” tall Old World Santa, (retail value $100), and also a $150 Gift Certificate
to Granite & Lace B&B! All items are reasonably priced and in limited
quantities. Come early for best selection! Storage for purchases will also be
provided for the day free of charge if you want to take the Tour of the Historic
homes of Port Deposit. Proceeds will benefit the Port Deposit Heritage
Corporation and The Paw Paw Museum. For more information or a presale

Civil War Encampment – 1 Center Street
Depicting
Snow’s Battery B, 1st Maryland Light Artillery, composed of men from the 7th
District of Cecil County, primarily from Port Deposit and environs. The battery
earned high honors and praise during the war from General Franz Sigel and
Captain Romeyn B. Ayres, and were even visited by President Abraham Lincoln and
Secretary of War Edwin M. Stanton who watched them drill in Northern Virginia.
